There are times when the herd mentality of the Left really gets to me. It can be heard repeatedly with their sheep-like bleating of repetitions of the same things over and over, again and again. They get little catch phrases and ideological mantras going that are replicated on all the news programs until the leadership finds a new non-idea to throw into the pot.
Well, Robert Reich, Secretary of Labor under Bill Clinton, has a not-so-new commentary he trotted out this past week where he compares the Tea Party to a conspiracy "to undermine the government of the United States."
First of all, Robert, a conspiracy is conducted in secret, behind closed doors, under cover of night . . . kinda like how Obama and his minions keep forcing through their agenda items like ObamaCare. On the other hand, the TEA Party is right there out in the open, even to the point of declaring on street corners what we believe in and what we expect from our government.
However, we can possibly be accused of wanting to "undermine" the government. At least insofar as it is currently constituted . . . or, as my father says, "Un-constituted." As in unconstitutional.
One definition of undermine is: to wash away supporting material from under. I think Many TEA Party folks very much want to wash away the support system of the Progressive Left, leaving a cleansed area for rebuilding the America the Left is seemingly trying to destroy. I know I want to wash away the stench of their suffocating regulations, unconstitutional activities, and questionable laws.
I was especially amused, in a dark way, by Robert Reich once again being such a staunch supporter of the Far Left. It should come as no surprise he is in favor of the imperial presidency style of Obama. After all, Reich means empire or realm. As in the Third Reich, Hitler's dream for Germany. A totalitarian dictatorship that cost the entire world an enormous price in lives lost and civilization damaged for decades in efforts to rebuild what happened in the time of war. Obama and the Left are just trying to wreak havoc in time of (mostly) peace.
Reich's conspiracy theory states:
Imagine a plot to undermine the government of the United States, to destroy much of its capacity to do the public's business, and to sow distrust among the population.I think Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, along with the rest of the DC Democrats, have pretty much destroyed the government's capacity to do the people's business all on their own. They can't even manage to pass a budget. The last budget passed was in early 2009, nearly four years ago!Imagine further that the plotters infiltrate Congress and state governments, reshape their districts to give them disproportionate influence in Washington, and use the media to spread big lies about the government.
Finally, imagine they not only paralyze the government but are on the verge of dismantling pieces of it.
As for sowing distrust among the population, I again think the DC Dems, with Obama at the forefront, are doing that all on their own. How can we possibly have any trust in a group of people who continuously lie to us. About pert near everything! Not to mention an administration that is actually considering possible necessity of the use of drone strikes against American citizens on American soil. REALLY??? And, yet they accuse the TEA Party of being the enemy.
As for the TEA Party infiltration of Congress and state governments . . . that's called elections. As for reshaping districts . . . remember that elections have consequences.
I suppose Reich and the Left do know something about using the media to spread big lies. But, considering that most of the lame-stream media sides with Obama and his minions in spreading only the Progressive propagandist approved lies, what are they griping about here? Talk radio and FOX News? The online fact-checkers that call the Left on their lies? How is that caused by the TEA Party? Especially since the TEA Party folks I know hold honesty to be a necessary virtue.
Concerning paralyzing and dismantling pieces of the government, I guess I have to admit to our probably being guilty of this one on all counts! 'Cause I think most of us want nothing more in the short term than to have Obama and his minions to be incapable of passing one more piece of legislation that steals one more aspect of our freedom. And, I know all TEA Party folks yearn for a smaller less intrusive government . . . which means that a whole lot of the bureaucracy has to go away. So, on this, I am proud to say, "Guilty as charged."
I know Robert Reich's words will now be disseminated throughout the herd for all the other sheep to bleat repetitively as they fight for their moment on camera. But, no matter how many times you repeat the lie, even a really big lie, it does not make it true. The TEA Party is not against America. We are against America becoming something other than the great free nation envisioned by our forefathers, then nurtured by wise patriots like Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan.
I want my voice heard by those in Washington, DC. But, I want to be heard as a free citizen, not as an enslaved member in their herd of taxpayers and freeloaders who merely bleat the repeats of whatever the current Leftist mantra is laying down as law.
