We Need to Have a Conversation

The Left quite often tells us we need to "have a conversation." They say it about racism, the environment, police brutality, violent crime, and pert near anything they consider to be important to their agenda. And, many of these topics are of importance and we do need to talk about them. The problem is that the Left does not apparently understand the meaning of the word "conversation".

I looked up "conversation" at a variety of online sites and dictionaries. I discovered the following definitions and meanings:

Informal interchange of thoughts, information, etc., by spoken words.

Oral communication between persons.

An informal discussion of a matter by representatives of governments, institutions, or organizations.

A talk between two or more people.

Conversations are interactive because contributions to a conversation are response reactions to what has previously been said.

All of these descriptions of the word "conversation" indicate that more than one entity talks. "Conversation" is an exchange of words between two or more sides, not a litany of words by just one side. When only one side speaks it becomes a lecture.

And, that is exactly what the Left does when they "have a conversation." They lecture all of us about what they believe and expect us to all fall in line with what they say. Then, they pretty much tell the rest of us to just shut up and keep quiet.

Well, I am here to say that I will not be silenced. I have my opinions and I still have the right of freedom of speech. I intend to use that right and express those thoughts. I pray my fellow Conservatives will do the same!

We do not have to just shut up and listen when the Left says they want to "have a conversation"! We can express our views. We can state the facts, announce our conclusions, and advance the discussion. We can speak the truth.

But, as we do all of these things, let us not be misled into believing the Left is actually going to be willing to listen. Heck, if they can avoid it, they are not even going to really give us a chance to talk. That does not fit into their definitions of either "conversation" or "free speech".

As in many things, the Left does not believe as we do. They do not define things as we do. They are not us.

It is true that we need to "have a conversation". But, it is a conversation we need to have with our fellow Conservatives. A conversation about what the Left really means when they say things. A conversation about truth. 'Cause in my opinion that is one things always lacking in any "conversation" from the Left.

As my paternal grandfather, Douglas Dale, in his words a "Mossy-backed Republican, put it, "I crave good conversation. Most people are too stupid to have good conversation. They just talk at you." Well, I am tired of the Left "just talkin' at me!"
