Another Big VAT Lie by Obama?

Obama campaigned with the "promise" that he would not raise taxes on the middle class. He reiterated this "promise" over and over again, repeatedly, ad nauseum. I'll grant you that what constituted the middle-class did occasionally alter as he and his cohorts tried to settle on just what constituted who is rich and who is not. But, he never seemed to waiver on his "promise" that the middle class would see no more tax hikes.

Well, he threw that "promise" down the chute almost as soon as he completed taking the oath of office. There is almost nothing his Administration and Congress have proposed that does not lead to not only increased taxes for the middle-class but to increased cost of living for everyone. Cap -n-Tax, ObamaCare, and now VAT are all aimed directly at the pocketbooks of every citizen who earns, buys, or lives in America. DC is playing their own version of Russian roulette, where in they are loading every chamber with a new tax bullet, and they are the ones planning to pull the trigger of the gun-which they have pointed at us.

I am by no means an expert in finance, taxes, business, or government, but the Value Added Tax (VAT) seems to me to be some kind of jury-rigged system by which DC gets more money, while the consumers get taken for pert near everything. There is no value added to our lives. No value added to what we buy or pay for. There is only cost added … to just about everything.

Make sure you understand Value Added Tax! When a tiny piece of an automobile is produced by a firm, that firm pays a tax on the difference between value of raw material and the new value of the tiny part it produced. You'll eat that tax as a consumer. That tiny piece goes into a larger piece of the car. There will be difference between the value of the tiny pieces put into that larger part and the value of the new part, and that difference will be VATed. That process continues until the car is complete, and it, too will have a VAT, paid by the manufacturer. Since the auto producer is in business to make money, the VATs paid along the way ultimately fall on you as the consumer as increased cost. Obama will not have increased YOUR tax. He will have increased YOUR cost which paid all those manufacturers' VATs. That's how the Obamalosi "promises" are kept. Oh, VATS will also apply to services. Nobody will escape.

The gang in DC can fiddle with the wording to end up making everything in our lives cost more so they get a bigger slice of the pie. Then, a huge chunk of the increased revenue going to DC will be eaten up by the new giant bureaucracy they put in place to deal with this new money-making toy that Pelosi just can't wait to play with.

I am not sure making it harder for people to make ends meet is the way to handle a dying economy. Many people are struggling to get from paycheck to paycheck, assuming they even have a paycheck coming in. With unemployment figures rising daily, more and more households are dealing with the heartbreak of joblessness. People are maxed out on credit cards and using up their savings. Most have nothing left to give. But, Obama and Pelosi are coming back with their hands out asking for, "More, please!"

Actually, their hands aren't out, and they aren't asking. They've decided to just reach directly into our pockets and take what they want. Some people thought Obama was the wide-eyed orphan Oliver who deserved a chance, but I think we are all now finding out we've got Fagin and his band of pickpockets.

If we do not do all we can to convince our government that enough is enough, there won't be enough left for us to live on.
